A superb quality late Regency burr elm tea caddy. The caddy is made of a wonderfully figured burr elm which is contrasted with ebony giving the whole a striking impact. The design is highly Neoclassical with a sarcophagus shape, ring handles, applied pilasters and lobed bun feet. The interior is retained in its entirety with a pair of lidded canisters and the original mixing bowl. The whole has a great original colour and patina.
