Description

A truly beautiful carved wooden box, the base carved as a table all from one piece of wood with exceptional detail with the pleats in the tablecloth being beautifully executed in each corner and the fringe hanging from the cloth's edge.

The figural lid features a regal looking cat comfortably sitting on a circular cushion with rope trim around the edge. The underside of the lid is signed "B. David".

English c.1900 / 1910, late Victorian or Edwardian in era. 6 1/2" x 6 1/2" x 6" tall.
