Fine quality late 19th century French bronze casket/box, c1890. The box is well cast and heavy at 1.2kg. It is beautifully decorated with neo-classical scenes including Knights on horseback etc and stands on 4 small, raised feet. The hinged lid reveals a void wood lined interior. Overall condition is good with no obvious defects and the bronze has taken on a rich deep colour/patina following years of use. A highly decorative and functional box.
