Opus Antiques has dated this piece to the 18th Century.
This circular spice box has a screw on lid and has incised line decoration to the lid. The lid does have a slight warp on closing but does screws down closed.
It dates from the mid 1700s and hence has developed a lovely colour and patina to it.
It is turned from sycamore.
There are a few very, very old woodworm holes, inactive, to the lid.
A great piece of treen full of charm.
It measures 14cm w x 4.5cm h excluding the knob.
