Charming Good Quality Late 19th Century French Ormolu Mounted Glazed White Porcelain Casket or Jewellery Box

Description

This lovely casket with very finely detailed ormolu mounts is centered upon a circular miniature (8cms diameter) , beneath glass, of a couple seated on a bench in 18th century dress engaged in conversation. The lid is hinged and fitted to the underside with a beveled edged mirror.

Condition: in very good condition with some rubbing to the original gilding consistent with its age. There is also some wear to the glaze to the underside of the base and some loss to the silvering to the edge of the mirror.
