In A Nutshell Antiques and Interiors has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
The doors opens out to reveal a series of racks for holding papers and letters.
There is also a pen tray and a pair of glass inkwells and below this is a large drawer that pulls out.
It is in very good condition and although it has been used it has been well looked after over the years. There are a few small knocks and marks around the outside, general signs of age and use but nothing detrimental. There have been a few small repairs here and there and a small slither of wood has been added to the edge of the door to ensure they close tightly and the key works. It has been lightly cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
