Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Regency bracket clocks were produced in Britain between approximately 1810 and 1830. Characterised by classical proportions, flame mahogany veneers, and intricate brass inlay, these spring-driven timepieces reflected the architectural and decorative fashions of early nineteenth-century England.

Clockmakers typically constructed cases from solid oak or pine, veneered with rich flame mahogany or rosewood. Ornamental features frequently incorporated brass inlay, cast brass feet, silk-backed sound frets, and turned brass finials.

Authentic Regency examples display period-specific features such as brass stringing or floral brass inlay, white painted or enamel dials with Roman numerals, fusee movement mechanisms, and cast decorative mounts like lion-head handles.

A antique bracket clock serves as a focal point when placed centrally on a stone mantelpiece, dark wood sideboard, or within a structured bookshelf arrangement alongside traditional leather-bound books.

To preserve the mahogany timber, position the clock away from direct sunlight, radiators, and extreme humidity shifts. Dust regularly with a soft, lint-free cloth and apply a high-grade beeswax polish sparingly along the grain.
