Chalfont Clocks has dated this piece to the 1960s.

The skeletonised movement is supported by four brass pillars held by a waisted bottom plate, that also holds the astronomical chapter ring at the top, the two train movement runs the timekeeping as well as the calendar, the time is displayed on two rotating silvered drums above a fixed point indicator in the middle of the mechanism, with the top displaying the day and month and signs of the zodiac around a rotating brass sun. The whole clock is housed under a bespoke glass dome on a mahogany base.
