Georgian Mahogany Campaign Brass Bound Writing Slope

An unusual rare campaign writing slope that dates to around 1820
 
It has a brass cartouche and escutcheon and brass bound corners, edges and handles and a rare feature......a retaining pin is lifted to reveal a pull out drawer at the side that has a mechanism for rolling documents, complete with its turning handle....we assume maybe military orders or scrolls.....who knows, we can only surmise
 
With a replacement black, gold tooled leather insert, a working lock and key and its original inkwells which have screw top release brackets
 
It measures 18/inches wide by 11 1/2 deep by 6 1/2 inches high
