This is one of the nicest writing boxes I have seen. It is brass bound with a pretty brass inlaid motif on the top. It has a good brass escucheon with the original key, which works. It has brass flush handles and a drawer below one of the handles that is accessed by lifting the brass release catch inside. There is, very unusually, another lockable section inside. The lock and the mother of pearl escucheon being on the leather writing surface. Again, the original key fits and works. The edges are all brass bound. The whole is in perfect condition.
