Victorian Walnut Writing Slope with Secret Drawers

Description

A fine Victorian figured walnut and brass inlaid writing slope. Brass bound to all sides with thin brass line inlay to front and top with oblong vacant brass plaque to the top with matching escutcheon to front. Original working lock and key.

Inside, two inkwells, pen tray and a beautiful black gilt embossed lamb skiver leather.

The writing boards opening to reveal stationery compartments and two secret drawers.

Circa 1870
