Antique Rosewood Sewing Pannier

An early 1800s rosewood sewing pannier. The lid with a brass ball button lifts to reveal the compartmentised interior with several slots for winders, a pin cushion and further storage space. Lined with light blue paper lining. At some stage the swing handle has been moved from the top of the lid to the side.
 
This lovely pannier box sits on four compressed bun feet.
 
The rosewood contrasts strikingly with the holly wood stringing to the edges in the lighter wood.
 
It measures 17.5cm w x12cm d x 6cm h excluding the handle.
