William Morris Antiques has dated this piece to the 18th Century.
The double hipped roof with individual glass panels linked by tooled gilt paper, flanking a central carrying handle, the outer glass panels of the lid painted with Arabesque designs and foliage, the sides of opaque Blue glass, on the underside of the hinged lid is aged foxed mirror glass, above the the original vibrant celeste Green paper interior.
There is some damage to the tooled gilt borders but all of the glass panels are in good condition.
