Description

Super quality brass-bound Regency writing slope. This rosewood writing slope has thick brass to the outside edge, the inside edge has brass inlay with shaped brass excursion and blank plaque to the top. The inside of the slope also has brass inlay and a rich green baise - probably the original. The slope has a ratchet mechanism so it can be used on an angle when closed. Only one support is working the other is a blank (this is how it would have been originally). The flaps inside have ribbon for keeping letters. Above the flap with the excursion are lift up lids, decorated with brass, a pen slide and inkwells. When you open up this compartment there is a lovely secret compartment with three drawers.C1820
