Large Size Georgian Horn Snuff Mull. 1834

Description

Large size Georgian Scottish horn and silver mounted snuff mull of significant Scottish interest. This is a much larger than normal version with silver band around the top with silver shield to the front and silver thistle design top. Engraved around the thin silver band is the following; "Coln Ross K.H. to Robt. Ross, Gardener BALNAGOWN CASTLE 9th July 1834"

There is minor age shakes to the horn but otherwise this is in good condition for its age. The silver is not hallmarked but this is not unusual for these.
