Rare Antique Victorian Etched Steel Strongbox Safe with Key

19th century
Description

A superb steel strong box dating from the mid 19th Century with its original working key. It is beautifully etched on all sides with intricate designs and a pair of Phoenix birds on the top. It has a carrying handle and stands on four small bun feet. The interior is lined with green fabric and the edge of the lid is stamped "3887". It is extremely heavy and an excellent quality item.

It is in good original condition. There are signs of age and use, some marks and light knocks, minor surface spots of rust but no major damages or anything detrimental and it displays beautifully.
