Antique Tunbridge Ware Sewing Box Plus Some Contents

Description

This is a Tunbridge Ware rosewood sewing box with a pin hinged lid. The lid is beautifully inlaid with a central geometric mosaic pannel using a variety of woods. There is a chequered string border at the edge. Note the beautifully turned knob on the lid.

Inside the box there are four sections for reels and a larger section for other sewing items including a double sided pin cushion and a cotton barrel.

The box measures 20cm w x 11cm d x 5cm h.
