Fine English brass bound mahogany writing slope, circa 1820
High quality British campaign furniture.
Working locks and keys, fitted with brass candle sconces and large moulded glass screw top inkwells,
Old green baize writing surface, turn catches to hold slope surface shut.
Three large secret drawers inside the upper cavity, the spring loaded cover opened by pressing the inkwell cavity floor.
The top can be fitted with the lectern stop housed in lower cavity, angle adjusted with hinged brass rack and stay.
In very good bright sound condition with little wear and tear from use, no significant damage or repair,
noting some shrinkage splits around the escutcheon and scratches to the front.
Overall in very good bright sound condition.
