Unusual and Stylish Large Mulberry Sarcophagus Casket

Description

Circa 1840, a very unusual and stylish Northern European mulberry casket of sarcophagus shape, standing on four squat silvered feet with brass lifting handles at the side. The scale of this box indicates that it had been commissioned for the storage of some fine personal belongings. Hinges are silver plated and so are the arms to restrain the lid.

Size 33cm high x 49cm wide x 36cm deep.

Most items include delivery anywhere in the UK mainland.
