Description

Eighteenth century Dutch brass tobacco box, Netherlands, circa 1750.

Hand engraved with symbols of love, scrolling borders with faces in the swirling centers, plump winged cherubs and a heart.

The heart with small inscription.

The back engraved in graphic script;

Tabak kan geeven Geest en Leeven (tobacco can give spirit and life)

All in excellent condition with good clear engravings, light surface pitting throughout.
