A lovely quality early 19th century rosewood writing slope with pewter string inlay on the top and front and mother of pearl plaque and escutcheon.
Inside there''s a beautiful burgundy tooled skiver, stationery compartments, coromandel lids with mother of pearl knobs, and pen tray, and perfect ribbon lattice for holding papers, letters etc.. and an original silver plated inkwel.
The piece is sined on a small inset plaque, Pearce : Maker : 77 Cornhill, London.
