Superb Halstaff & Hannaford Regent St London Watch Box C.1890

19th century
Description

It’s a pleasure to offer a truly fantastic Halstaff & Hannaford Regent Street London converted Watch Box c.1890. Halstaff & Hannaford were a high end box maker. William Halstaff started the business in 1825 at Margaret Street and then moved the business to 228 Regent street London in 1842 where this box was made c.1890. This box was originally a desk box but it’s now been fully converted to a watch box to hold up to 6 watches. The interior has been hand crafted and fitted by a professional carpenter to match the high end quality of the box itself. The two small red boxes are original with the original makers label inside and designed to fit perfectly in their compartments. The red boxes sit on a small platform for easy removal. We have intricate brass & pewter inlay following along the edging of the interior which is original to the box. The red velvet inside the lid is original also. All compartments fit perfectly a black velvet watch cushion in which all 6 will come provided with the box.

The exterior is just beautiful with full brass boulle work set in tortoise shell surrounding the piece in great condition shown by the pictures. It comes with a fully functioning lock and key and dates to Victorian 1890.

The watches or candle unfortunately don’t come with the box! It’s truly a super investment, or to display your watches, or a perfect gift.
