Opus Antiques has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
This lovely lidded box has a label saying Spicebox and a picture entitled 'Tower of Refuge'.
The box has an attractive scalloped edging and a well turned handle. It is a good colour.
These would have been made as souvenir goods for the wealthy.
The box measures only 13cm w x 9cm h.
