Description

A superb writing slope made from burr walnut with pewter inlay through out. It’s in a stunning condition with the burr walnut giving off a truly fantastic swirling to the grain. It has a mother of pearl in the centre lid and to the escutcheon. The interior comprises of the writing slope section with the original velvet. It has various compartments for storing writing materials. It comes with two silver plate inks and a fully functioning lock and key. This example dates to the Victorian period 1860.
