A Georgian Flame Mahogany Candle Box

18th century
Description

A lovely Georgian wall hanging mahogany candle box. The colour and patina are excellent on this box. The front sliding lid is flame mahogany with an inlaid star in satin wood and stringing to the central pannel. The lid slides out to put the candles in and out of. The lid is slightly bowed but still works fine.

The sides and back are mahogany. There is a hole for hanging the box on the backboard.
