An absolutely superb example of a silk top hat and leather hat box, both from the early 20th century. The finely-stitched tan leather hat box has a strong handle, impeccable stitching throughout, all four studs to the base, a leather hinge to the lid in superb order, a good clean interior, and - almost unheard of - a lock with its original key in perfect working order. The silk top hat is by one of the most revered London makers - Henry Heath (by warrant to His Majesty the King) - and is in the best condition we've ever seen for a vintage topper: the stitching, the felt band, the silk itself — all in astonishingly well-preserved order.

The hat's overall proportions can be described as a good medium size — unlike so many on the market that are too small.

The sizes below refer to the outside dimensions of the leather hat box.
