Description

A 19th century novelty snuff box carved in the form of some bellows. The front face is decorated with a motto in brass pin pique work 'Forget me not". It is mahogany, the reverse side has a sliding lid with a stop to prevent the lid sliding out completely and becoming lost, a nice extra feature.

In some documentation the carved shaped bellows snuff boxes were made togive the allusion of blowing away the dust!

This one measures approx when closed 11cm l x 6cm w x 3cm d.
