A good quality 19th.century Anglo Indian brass bound beautifuly figured camphor wood campaign writing box. As the drawer is pulled open the tambour top rolls back and the rising section can be lifted via the 2 sprung battens at each end. This reveals the various pigeon holes and compartments. The baise lined sloping fall opens to a fitted interior with pen tray, lidded compartment and a circular straight edge which when removed offers up a small hole which when pressed releases a sprung cover to reveal 2 secret drawers.
