Description

A very fine late 18th century George III period TORTOISESHELL TEA CADDY in superb original condition.

Of so-called "tented" design (due to its 'gabled' top) this lovely caddy features a traditional cast silver "bow" handle and vacant shield-shaped cartouche to the front above which is the original cast silver escutcheon. The interior retains much of its original lead lining and it is in truly lovely condition. Measurements: 6.25ins (16cms) wide.
