The box opens to reveal a fitted ebonised interior with a replaced hand dyed black leather writing surface with decorative gold and blind tooling. The top with a coromandel pen tray and compartments for ink pots and paper clips etc. The top slope opens to a storage compartment which conceals 3 secret drawers behind a blank mahogany facia, this is released by lifting a sprung divider in the top. The lower slope also opens to another mahogany lined interior and a brass pin releases the side drawer. This antique writing box is in pristine condition and would make an ideal gift.
