Description

Very strange and unusual mummified hand in a presentation box dated 1910. This is most probably a 'Grand Tour' piece sold to tourists around the turn of the century. It may well have been sold as a Pharaoh's / child's hand but it clearly has no thumb so appears to be a monkey hand. There is a handwritten date in the corner of the box (1910) . The hand is wrapped in old frayed cloth and appears to have a tar like substance applied-no doubt part of the preservation process? Overall condition is good with only minor surface wear.
