Made from dense native oak which has mellowed to a medium colour.
(Some old replacements to the inlay, replaced hinges).
West Wales, circa 1760.

The coffor bach was traditionally associated with marriages and this form of decoration was typical of furniture produced in west and south Wales in the eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries.
