Description

Large and beautifully made mahogany and brass inlaid writing box with working key. C1820

Well figured mahogany, with thick brass bandings give this box a military appearance. Item is very heavy.

The lid opens to reveal a writing surface with an inkwell, various compartments and drawers.

The spring loaded mechanism for releasing the internal drawer cover has been replaced with a brass catch

The original worn baize has been retained.
