A lovely antique mahogany writing slope with inset campaign style handles, ornate brass corner pieces, brass strapping and matching brass escutcheon. The interior of the box is fitted with a good quality writing surface and it comes with both of its original glass inkwells and removable pen tray. To the side of the box is a large pull out drawer, released by removing a brass pin from within the box. The box also comes with its original working key.
The writing slope is excellent quality and is in good condition for its age with a beautiful patina. The brass work has been lightly polished and it displays very well inside and out. There are a few small splits, some minor knocks and light surface marks around the box but nothing detrimental. The writing surface is in good condition with some light wear along the crease.
