Description

This is a good quality Japanese cloisonne lidded Box dating from the Meiji period, circa 1860. The box is attractively worked with lovely enamelled detail throughout the piece with images of birds and butterflies amongst flowers and blossom. The box has a separate close fitting lid which is silk lined, as is the interior of the casket. The piece is in excellent order with no damage or restoration and measures 12 cms by 8 cms by 7 cms high.
