9ct gold Rotary wrist watch, 1926.

The watch has a Swiss 15-jewel hand-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is not signed, in fact it was probably one of the last unsigned ones as the Rotary logo was introduced around this time.

The watch measures 21mm wide excluding the winding crown and 30mm high excluding the lugs... it would suit a slimmer wrist. The case is 9 carat gold and there are hallmarks on the back of the watch for Glasgow (import mark), 1926, with an importer's mark for Sylvain Dreyfus.

Fabriques de Montres Rotary was established by Moise Dreyfuss in 1895, in Switzerland. By the 1920s, family members Georges and Sylvain Dreyfuss began importing Rotary watches to Britain, which was to become the company's most successful market.

The front of the case is in good condition. The back of the watch has some unevenness.

The lens has a little marking on if viewed closely.

The dial is in its original finish. There is some age related darkening but it is still easy to read the time.

A new leather strap has been fitted.

The watch comes in a vintage presentation box.
