This lovely box having a lift up lid with a plain interior and makers label for Edwards of London. David Edwards, 21 King Street, Bloomsbury Square, London were case and writing box makers to the Royal family, famously known for their use of exotic and fine quality timbers. Edwards had 2 Royal warrants from both King George IV and Queen Victoria. In 1859 they were bought out by Asprey who continue to make the finest quality items.
