Small George III Mahogany Knife Box

Description

Small size George III mahogany shaped knife box inalid with a boxwood and brass chequered line on every edge. The knife box is a nice shape with original shaped brass hinges to the rear. The inside of the lid has a boxwood and ebony inlaid star with the same chequered line inlay as the outside. The knife box has been beautifully converted to a stationery box in the 19th century in a very sympathetic manor.

Couple of minor old veneer repairs otherwise very good for age.
