Description

A wonderful top quality example of one of these highly prized dome-topped stationery boxes.

Created from highly decorative burl Walnut, my personal favourite wood, the beautiful patterns and colours created are showcased by a good glossy patina.

The lavish brass mounts still retain most of the gilding with no missing metalwork or pins.

The interior is equally impressive, remaining totally original including the vibrant blue silk taffeta. The quality is evident from the lock and hinges, all beautifully engraved and also gilded; the box comes complete with an original working key.

As I said before, a wonderful example; a delight to behold in such wonderful original condition. Measures 9" x 5" x 6 1/4" tall.
