A really charming Regency period Yew wood work or sewing box. The box has the most wonderful original colour and patina and a lot of movement and burring in the Yew. The whole box is line inlaid with boxwood and the lid is crossbanded in an exotic wood, possibly kingwood. The interior is original with a lining of pink coloured paper and compartments. There is a beautiful little single drawer on the front. This a lovely little example of a provincial Regency work box in great original condition. C.1820.
