Description

Fine quality large and nickel plated 19th.Century Swiss cylinder music box. The unusual double spring movement plays on 2 steel combs with the winding handle to the left and start / stop and repeat / change switches to the right. The rosewood veneered case with thumb moulded and ebonised edge with boxwood stringing and floral marquetry inlaid centre. The box retains the original internal glass cover and is in good working order with clear sound and excellent tone and all the teeth are present. The movement is numbered 25 536 but there is no tune sheet but some of the tunes are easily recognisable. If you would like to hear the music box play please contact us.
