A Fine Quality Japanese Gold Wire Cloisonne Enamel Box

1900 - 1920
Description

As part of our Japanese art collection we are delighted to offer this exceptionally fine quality cloisonne box , the silver rim box and cover is decorated on the front elevation and across the entire lid and depicts a pair of gold wire sparrows amidst a miriad of exotic multi coloured exotic flowers including a spray of blossoming chrysanthemums , the flowers are picked out in polychrome enamel with the use of silver wire contrasting with the traditional midnight blue background , the box is silk lined inside and is an absolute delight !

Attributed to the Ando company.

The condition is superb inside and out.
