A fine late 18th century tortoiseshell TEA CADDY of desirable ten-sided "tented" form.

Each of the well-figured tortoiseshell panels is divided by slender ivory stringing, whilst the engraved silver cartouche to the front is framed with a border of silver pique dots. The gabled lid opens to reveal the original blonde tortoiseshell lids and most of the original lead lining is intact. 6ins wide; 6ins high (overall) and 3.75ins deep. (15 x 15 x 9.5cms)
