This nineteenth-century French Neoclassical mantel clock is rendered in white marble and gilded ormolu. The cylindrical white marble body features vertical rows of gilded beading, an enamel dial with black Roman numerals and painted floral motifs, and ornate ormolu scroll mounts flanking the sides. A figural cherub in a polished gold-colored finish sits atop a dark rocky base at the summit. The rectangular white marble base rests on four short cast ormolu feet and is decorated with repeating classical scroll mouldings along the front plinth.
