Description

A Victorian coromandel ladies dressing table case or vanity box of substantial proportions, made in London and complete with all original silver topped lids, hallmarked 1869 by Thomas Whitehouse.

This fitted box is lined with blue leather with gilded detail and plush blue velvet and contains numerous compartments and sections, including a fold down compartment for letters, with removable mirror.

The box contains an assortment of eleven original glass bottles and jars, each with beautifully engraved solid silver hallmarked tops and monogrammed. The monogram corresponds to the one on the exterior lid of the box. There is a removable accoutrements pad with various tools, each with mother of pearl handles. There is also a hidden jewellery drawer, opened by a release button, discreetly positioned to the back of the interior of the box, between the hinges.
