Good Burr Yew-wood Tea Caddy

Description

A very fine and particularly impressive early 19th century TEA CADDY in gorgeous original condition.

Veneered throughout in finest burr yew-wood and cross-banded with chevrons, it is inlaid with fine "batswing" oval panels to the lid and front, with the original Old Sheffield Plate handle to the lid. It opens to reveal twin lidded compartments; these lids retaining their original bright green-stained harewood decoration and turned ivory handles.

A very fine caddy indeed. 7.75 x 5 x 4.5ins (19 x 12.8 x 11.5cms)
