A beautiful early Victorian rosewood ladies dressing table case or vanity box of substantial proportions, made in London and complete with all original silver topped lids, hallmarked for 1843 by George Reid.

This fitted box is lined with plush purple velvet and leather and contains numerous compartments and sections, including a fold down hidden compartment for letters.

The box contains a stunning assortment of eight bottles and jars with script applied monogrammed lids that corresponds to the one on the exterior lid of the box, with the same script applied monogram. Removable accoutrements pad with various tools. There are also two further compartments, with mother of pearl handles.

To the side of the box is a drawer with fitted sectional interior for jewellery.

This box is in superb condition for its age, being a particularly good early example. Additional photographs available upon request.
