Tunbridge Ware Sewing Box with Many Fittings

Description

A particularly well-fitted mid/late 19th century Tunbridge SEWING BOX with a fine selection of original Tunbridgeware fittings etc.

The box itself is veneered in rosewood and inlaid with a marquetry panel within ornate bands of various specimen woods. The lid opens to reveal the original interior with fittings which include: stamp box; pin cushion; cotton reel; tape measure; needle case etc, all in Tunbridge-ware plus other items and a large Tunbridge clamp (which does not fit inside) plus the original key. 8ins (20.5cms) wide.
