Chapman & Son's Silver Vanity Box C.1878

Description

A stunning Vanity box made from coromandel wood.  The box is completely immaculate throughout.  The coromandel wood gives off an attractive grain.  Brass inlay on the centre lid with a brass brahma lock and key with brass carved hinges.  The interior is completely original and kitted out.  Each pot is made from silver with hallmarked and engraved individually.  Dates specifically to 1878.  Mirror in the lid which comes out to reveal a large brush behind.  Underneath the silver pots are more brushes.  Pop out front Jewellery draw.  Made by Chapman and son’s London.  Made for Family M.C.S.  Absolute stunning piece.
