A very fine quality Victorian period Parkins and Gotto, bur walnut writing slope. The slope is in superbly figured bur walnut with ebonised details and interior. The box has the completely original interior right down to the Parkins and Gotto inkwells. The interior also has a secret compartment with drawers and the original leather. The box has a working key and the brass cartouche has no monogram. The box is in excellent but used condition there are a few marks on the top and little repairs here and there, non of which are very severe or distracting. The box is untouched and thus has a great patina and rich colour. C.1850.
